"I am so much more expressive and confident than I have ever been in my life. Even though there has been musical and personal growth, this album really takes me back in time, to when I didn’t overthink the creative process. Before, I would have said Goodies was my favorite album, but now I believe Jackie is my best body of work." - Ciara for W Magazine.

via ABC Radio: Ciara is back in the studio. While promoting this year’s Billboard Music Awards, where she’ll host alongside Ludacris, the singer tells ABC Radio that she’s already begun working on the follow-up to last year’s Jackie.
“I’m taking my time with it, I’m super, super excited about this project,” Ci Ci says. “You know, I really want to make sure that its truly my best yet, and also I want to take my time. I won’t say where I’m at with it but I’m super happy with how it’s going.”
The singer, who recently got engaged to NFL star Russell Wilson, wouldn’t reveal if the project will be loaded with love songs. “Lots of good songs, that’s all I’m going to tell you,” she says. “I ain’t gonna tell you too much right now.”
So will the album will drop before her wedding day? “You know darling, you’ll have to wait and see,” Ciara coyly replies.
Maybe Ciara will give us an update during the Billboard Music Awards when it airs May 22 on ABC, live from Las Vegas.

The pop-tinged production, out on Spinnin’ Records, showcases a Jersey club sequence fortified by Ciara’s strong vocals. Listen to “Get Up,” exclusively on Billboard.
Last year at Coachella, Ciara joined R3hab on stage to perform the record while it was still in its early stages. Main stage influencers Tiësto, David Guetta and Afrojack have already begun to play out the new single.
“Get Up” is the not the first time the two have worked together. Ciara’s sixth studio album, Jackie, included R3hab’s remix of her single “I Bet,” which peaked at No. 43 on the Hot 100.
“Get Up” will be available digitally tomorrow (Jan. 29).
Ciara’s brand new track “Paint It, Black” recorded for ‘The Last Witch Hunter’ movie will be released tomorrow (October 9) on iTunes and Spotify. The song is a cover of the classic Rolling Stones with the same name, released in 1966. The soundtrack will be released on October 23rd.
UPDATE: The track is now available to listen on VEVO:
